TECHNICAL ARCHITECTURE
SAP Ariba Category Management on SAP BTP
SAP Ariba Category Management uses SAP BTP with the cloud solution to gain visibility, extend applications and integrate source-to-pay processes. Customers must have the SAP Ariba Category Management license.
BTP SETUP FOUNDATION
Subaccounts, Identity Services and Cloud Foundry Readiness
The solution foundation starts with SAP BTP subaccounts, identity services, provisioning setup and Cloud Foundry readiness before Category Management entitlements are subscribed.
Test & Production Subaccounts
Set up two SAP BTP subaccounts: one for test use and another for production use.
IAS for Each Subaccount
For each SAP BTP subaccount, configure a separate Identity Authentication service tenant.
IPS / SCIM Identity Management
For each SAP BTP subaccount, use an identity management system supporting SCIM, such as Identity Provisioning service.
Enable Cloud Foundry
Enable Cloud Foundry on SAP BTP subaccounts before subscribing to the required Category Management entitlements.
ENTITLEMENTS & SUBSCRIPTIONS
Enable Category Management Entitlements in BTP Cockpit
In the BTP cockpit, subscribe to the relevant Category Management entitlement. Once successfully enabled, the Category Management subscription and related procurement services become visible in the BTP cockpit.
ROLES & ADMINISTRATION
Administrator and End-User Role Assignment
Assign all required administrator roles to the administrator and assign the relevant role collections to end-users. When SAP Ariba Category Management is subscribed, the system automatically creates role collections based on role templates.
- Category Management Administrator – CategoryManagementAdministrator
- Workflow administration role collection – WorkflowAdmin & WorkflowContextAdmin
- Opportunity Analysis Administrator – CategoryManagementOpportunityAdministrator
- Category Manager – CategoryManagementManager & CategoryManagementViewer
- Category Management Viewer – CategoryManagementViewer
- Category Strategy Approver – CategoryPlanApprover, WorkflowParticipant & CategoryManagementViewer
- Opportunity Manager – OpportunityManager, OpportunityViewer, CategoryManagementOpportunityManager & CategoryManagementOpportunityViewer
